Doug Nicholson of the Houston office of Grubb & Ellis Co. represented the seller, Dawson O. George III. Eric Blackman of New Horizons in Houston brokered the deal for Basic Dollar Wholesale. The sales price was not available, but the property was marketed at $875,000.
The building is situated on 1.72 acres. Built in 1965, it is designed with 10,000 sf of office space and 15,000 sf of warehouse. It also has two docks and one semi-dock.
The Houston-based Basic Dollar Wholesale deals in general merchandise. It currently occupies industrial space at 7800 Harwin Dr. in Houston near its newly acquired property. In the past year, Southwest Houston's inner loop has seen a lot of activity in single-user warehouse sales. In November 2001, Nicholson hawked a property with a 20,000-sf warehouse in the same area to Mass Wholesale, a party goods supplier.
