To date, the Y has received funds from private groups and foundations including major contributions: $7.5 million from the Kresge Foundation; $3 million from the Carls Foundation; $1 million from the McGregor Fund and $1 million from the John and Marlene Boll Family. Gifts of $500,000 each were granted by Bank One, Comerica Bank and the Hudson Webber Foundation. Other early supporters include the Shelden Fund and the Whitney Fund of the Community Foundation of Southeastern Michigan.

By 2005, the YMCA hopes to serve more than 500,000 children, adults and seniors in the region. The YMCA will be renovating or developing new buildings to the tune of an additional 443,000 sf in the following locations:

* Downtown Family YMCA -- Keeping its promise to rebuild, the Y will increase outreach programs for Detroit schools and neighborhoods through the new facility.

* Huron Valley Family YMCA -- A new, full facility will serve the communities of Highland, Brighton, Wixom, White Lake, Hartland, Walled Lake, Commerce Township and Union Lake in west Oakland County.

* North Oakland Family YMCA -- This new facility will replace the leased outreach center and will be a tremendous asset to meeting the needs of children and families in the Pontiac, Rochester and Auburn Hills communities.

* Warren Family YMCA -- This facility will add a natatorium and teen center to its long list of services. Additionally, locker rooms at the facility will undergo extensive renovations.

* Camping Services -- New cabins, an innovative arts and humanities center and kitchen renovations will be the highlights at YMCA's Camp Nissokone in Oscoda and Camp Ohiyesa in Holly.
