In addition, as many as 15 new franchise restaurants are expected to open before the end of the year. The first, in Omaha, NE, opened Feb. 11.
Six new company operated restaurants were opened during the year along with nine new franchise restaurants. The company recently sold four company restaurants to franchisees -- a Rochester, MN restaurant was sold in December and three Wisconsin restaurants in January.
Additional commitments for 61 franchise restaurants are in place through signed area development agreements.
Famous Dave also recently said its sales for the year ending Dec. 30 were up 25% to $87.7 million, and its same-store sales were up 2.9% on a year-over-year basis. The company posted net income of $8.1 million, or $0.75 per share, nearly four timesits earnings the previous year.
At the end of last year, Famous Dave's had 37 company restaurants and 19 franchise restaurants.
