"AARP ultimately wants to be in either every state capital or major business center in the country," he tells GlobeSt.com, adding that the Boston office is coordinating that goal. "In today's world, with email and various tools, everything can be done as if the realtor is next door." Among the leases procured so far are offices in Oklahoma City, Baltimore, Wilmington, Cheyenne, San Juan, Puerto Rico, St. Paul and Anchorage.

Farnum along with Alison Hamilton, an associate with Trammell Crow in Boston are coordinating AARP's national campaign. Headquartered in Washington, DC, AARP serves over 35 million members nationwide through programs that include education, advocacy on legislation, research, and social and welfare activities. The organization has an office here at One Boston Place.
