The property, known as the Darwin Technology Center, is located in the Carlsbad Research Center at 5937-5939 Darwin Court. Morgan-Alton Ltd. bought the property from Darwin Tech LLC.
Jim Spain and Brian Strange of Colliers International represented the buyer. Dave Steffy and Kent Moore of Business Real Estate represented the seller. Completed in 2001, the project is 100% leased. Major tenants include McGraw-Hill Companies, Sultzer Dental and Sound Technologies.
Lusardi Construction Co. built the center's two structures, which reported strong preleasing prior to and during construction. The center is adjacent to Palomar Airport in the Carlsbad Research Center.
The project consists of office suites, ranging in size from 1,800 to 10,000 sf, and industrial suites of between 2,000 and 10,000 sf.
Darwin Tech LLC, with Bill Shirley and John Tworoger as managing members, bought the land for $2.18 million.
