Cost of the building, which also includes 30,000 sf of office space, is estimated at $17 million. Hyundai Motor America, which already has a 222,840-sf facility built in Aurora 13 years ago, is buying a 19.65-acre site, where Clayco Construction will oversee building of the new distribution center.
The 185-acre industrial park at Orchard and Randall roads along I-88 already is home to Amurol Confections, a division of the William Wrigley Jr. Co. However, a 258,000-sf building at 1455 Sequoia Dr. remains nearly 40% vacant. Meanwhile, Prime Group and Friedman Billings Ramsey have been in talks over an extension of an $8-million mezzanine debt on the project.
