Duncan, who also had similar titles with Chicago-based JMB Institutional Realty Corp., joins Equity Residential April 8 as president as well as a member of the REIT's board of trustees. Meanwhile, Crocker will stay on as chief executive officer through 2002 before becoming vice chairman.
"Bruce is a highly-regarded real estate professional with a very successful track record and I look forward to his becoming part of our team," Crocker says in a statement.
Duncan left Cadillac Fairview in March 2000, expressing a wish to return to the US. "I look forward to being part of the most respected management team in the industry," he says.
