According to Arthur Bergeron, Metro Park's attorney, the development involves two buildings and three retail tenants. Bergeron says that it is unclear yet who those tenants will be.

Previously, New England Development had suggested developing a mall on this site last year but a town official tells GlobeSt.com that the town wouldn't issue the special permit required for the project. New England eventually withdrew its plans.

But Bergeron insists that Metro Park's plan for the site, which it acquired in 1997, is different than New England Development's plan. He points out this was one continuous strip which presented a large rear view to the residential abutters. Metro Park has divided the project, with one 90,000 sf building separate from the 410,000-sf two story building. This larger building will be developed on a hill and will have a lower parking lot in front and a higher parking lot in its rear, reducing the amount facing the neighbors.
