Giant Eagle Supermarket Takes on 52,000 SF

FREDERICK, MD-Giant Eagle grocery store moves into the 52,000-sf space at the Frederick Shopping Center that formerly housed County Market. The retail plaza remains leased to full capacity.

Frederick Shopping Center was built nearly three decades ago and offers over 217,500 sf of retail space. It underwent renovation in 1990 and houses such tenants as CVS, Staples, Papa John's Pizza, and Radio Shack. "It's a real successful shopping center," JBG Rosenfeld Retail leasing agent Bob Schwenger tells GlobeSt.com. "It's 100% leased and it tends to stay 100% leased." Because of Giant's' acquisition of County Markets, the space was never a closed vacancy.
