In a September agreement, New Century Title Co., a subsidiary of Phoenix-based Capital Title Group Inc., assumed management of the five BridgeSpan offices being acquired in the three counties. The acquisition of title operations in the three California counties immediately doubles the number of counties served by New Century in its Northern California region.
Financial terms of the deal weren't disclosed.
Mervyn L. Morris, president of California operations for New Century, says the company now has 30 branch locations in 11 California counties and plans to open several more by the end of the year.
New Century's parent company, Capital Title Group Inc. is a regional title insurance agent with 66 offices representing five title insurance companies. It offers real estate-related services for commercial and residential customers.
