Featherfist, Inc., a non-profit agency for the homeless, will buy the property at the corner of 75th Street and Crandon Avenue for $100,000. The offices will be used by the agency's 30 employees, as well as provide space for 10 new hires, according to an ordinance expected to be approved by the city council this month.

The city acquired the property in March 2000 as a result of a property tax foreclosure, records show. The property includes a one-story, 10,400-sf commercial building constructed in 1955, according to tax records. According to the Cook County assessor's office, 88% of the value of the property is in the land.
