Pan Pacific Retail Properties Inc., the largest neighborhood shopping center real estate investment trust on the West Coast, today announced acquisitions in Hacienda Heights, Hillsboro, OR and Las Vegas totaling about 600,000 sf.

The company financed the deals with a combination of cash and draws under its unsecured line of credit.

"We are continuing to enhance our leadership position on the West Coast through selectively acquiring grocery-anchored shopping centers within our core markets," says Stuart A. Tanz, president and chief executive officer. "The properties are well situated in demographically strong areas."

Each shopping center is anchored by a major supermarket chain and features a broad mix of national and regional retailers providing everyday essentials, Tanz says.

Hacienda Plaza is a 135,000-sf neighborhood center located in Hacienda Heights, a suburb of Los Angeles. The center is currently 94% leased and is anchored by Albertson's Supermarket. Sunset Esplanade is a 358,000-sf community center located in Hillsboro, a suburb of Portland. The center is 98% leased and is anchored by Safeway Supermarket, Rite Aid Drugstore, Jo-Ann Fabrics & Crafts, and Target. Decatur Meadows is a 111,000-sf neighborhood center in Las Vegas and is 95% leased and is anchored by Vons Supermarket.
