Verizon Wireless is a subsidiary of Verizon Communications. It has 23 stores in Houston and dozens scattered throughout the state. Jim Thompson of the Houston office of Grubb & Ellis Co. represented Verizon and Jim Smith of Houston-based Boyd Page handled talks for the building owner, Woodlake Collection LP.
Verizon, or any of its similarly credit-worthy subsidiaries, is always considered a plum contract to land. Its real estate holdings include a 10,000-sf office spot at the Bunker Hill Building along Houston's Katy Freeway and a $20-million, 520,000-sf network observation and control center in the Solana Complex in Southlake near Dallas.
Verizon is the largest provider of wireless and wireless communications in the US, with 132.1 million access line equivalents and 29.4 million wireless customers. The company has an operating revenue of $67.2 billion.
