Under the agreement, CarrAmerica will manage the design and construction of the school's expansion.

Additions to the school will include six classrooms with eight-person computer labs, a two-story music/drama room, competition-sized gymnasium, two science labs, a library and technology media center, a student lounge area and principal and teacher offices.

The new facilities will be completed and ready for use before the start of the 2002-03 school year in September.

''Our experience developing leading-edge educational facilities -- including build-to-suits for the Art Institute of Atlanta, the Art Institute of Los Angeles/Orange County and Regents University in Alexandria, VA -- will enable us to obtain the best value for Collegiate Academy's investment,'' says Gary Polodna, CarrAmerica's Development's vice president.

Founded in 1994 as Sci Tech Academy Charter School, Collegiate Academy provides a college preparatory program to more than 500 students in grades kindergarten through 12.
