Mexi-Link is a Houston-based importer of Mexican products that are distributed to grocery and department stores throughout the US. The firm is moving to an 11-story, 235,961-sf office building owned by Koll Bren Schreiber Realty Advisors.
Glenna Duke of Houston's GK Duke & Associates represented Mexi-Link in the lease negotiations. Kim Grizzle and Wade Bowlin, both of Houston-based PM Realty Group, handled talks for the building owner.
The Katy Freeway submarket contains about 14 million sf of office space, according to the Houston office of Cushman & Wakefield of Texas Inc. The latest report pegs overall vacancy rate at 13.9%, with direct gross rent averaging $19.07 per sf. The area posted a negative absorption of 110,006 sf in the first quarter.
