McNeel Builders of Marietta, GA constructed the building at Interstate 75 and GA 92 for an estimated $40 per sf or $2.2 million. GlobeSt.com couldn't reach McNeel or the tenant at publication deadline. Degussa plans to occupy the property in July.
The structure is expandable to 80,000 sf, according to a prepared statement from Cushman & Wakefield of Georgia Inc. whose Charles S. Craighill negotiated for Degussa. Steve McNeel represented his company.
Degussa AG is one of the largest specialty chemical companies in the world. The company makes products used in manufacturing tires, animal-feed additives, pharmaceuticals and paints/coatings. One of the company's best-known products and brands is Plexiglas plastic sheet.
