The council will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday in its chambers. The yard is needed to address noise and other problems that residents say auto dealers cause in the city's neighborhoods. Residents who live near Gateway Drive have complained during the past two years that vehicle deliveries to Poway Honda are too noisy.
The council voted in January to spend $4 million for five acres on Kirkham Way for a lot that will be built by next spring. It would have an eight-foot-high wall around it, perimeter fencing and a small guardhouse for security.
City officials will work out details soon with the auto dealerships but believe they will support the plan.
