The service centers are designed to accommodate company vehicles, including vans, bucket trucks and heavy construction equipment. The 150 technicians located at each service center provide the construction necessary to lay telephone cable, as well as service customer requests.
"SBC chose to renew these leases based on ease of access to their customerbase," says Chicago-based Equis Corp. vice president Timothy Cahill, who represented SBC Communications. "In addition, the existing locations were the most cost effective to meet operational requirements."
Equis Corp. is the exclusive real estate provider for the SBC/Ameritech portfolio, which includes more than 15 million sf, in leased and 5,000 owned properties throughout the US.
