The City Council, acting as the Community DevelopmentCommission, approved the $2 million sale of a parcel on NationalCity Boulevard to the Southwestern Community College District.

Two weeks ago, crews began clearing buildings on a three-sitebetween Eighth Street and Plaza Boulevard.

The center will include classrooms for Southwestern, San DiegoState University and the county Office of Education. When completein two years, the center will be able to accommodate 10,000students.
