Court rulings favorable to the commission kept the Twins frombeing disbanded this year, and many believe the suit representedthe biggest obstacle to the team's elimination next year or infuture years if plans for a stadium are not finalized.

Keeping the team in Minnesota through 2003 would givelegislators a chance to pass another bill next year if the currentone, passed earlier this month, doesn't lead to funding or fails toclear other hurdles.
