In Bloomfield Hills, JBD Acquisition Corp. is developing a $2-million office building east of Woodward Avenue and south of Long Lake Road. The two-story, 10,238-sf building at 180 High Oak St. will be ready for occupancy this spring. The Acme Group, an automotive supplier and distributor, plans to lease 7,797 sf in the building.
Housey Pharmaceuticals has announced plans to expand its $4.1-million office andresearch laboratory based on the area's sizable, well-trained workforce in the medical sciences.
President and CEO Dr. Gerard Housey says the Midwestern work ethic and area's "healthy year-round, family-oriented lifestyle," were also deciding factors. Housey will add 88 jobs when the expansion is completed.
Providence Hospital, in cooperation with Whitehall Real Estate Interests, plans to develop a 13-acre site on Greenfield Road where the Americana Theater once stood.
Nine acres will be used for 180 urban-style, townhome condominiums, to be built by Tadian Homes, flanked by restaurants and retail shops. The $30-million project will be called Village at Cornerstone.
