Starbucks will take 1,600 sf and Pizza Hut is opening a 2,800 sf sit-down restaurant in the San Diego-based Focus Group development. Commercial development in 2001 accounted for $7.2 million in closings. This year, commercial development has been equally as active as developers line up the retailers for the growing influx of residents. Among Anthem's commercial developments are the Anthem Marketplace, a 125,000-sf, Safeway-anchored retail center; Anthem Commerce Park, a 104-acre commercial and industrial project that has lured tenants such as Comfort Suites and U-Haul Mini Storage; and the Corporate Center at Anthem, a 60-acre office project currently in development.
