The Phoenix-headquartered Fulton Andrew has a client roster that includes Lockheed Martin Corp., Robert Half International Inc., Syntellect and Alliant Foodservices Inc. The firm strictly deals in tenant representation.
Keyser, an award-winning broker, tells GlobeSt.com that his plan to become a tenant advocate to provide a sorely needed tenant-driven approach for Arizona corporations. "Phoenix is behind cities like Chicago, New York and Los Angeles with regard to general understanding of dual agency and conflicts of interest," he says. "As the Phoenix marketplace matures, more and more companies will require that their real estate representation is strictly tenant driven."
Keyser says he left Grubb & Ellis to more clearly define his role as a tenant representative in an environment that does not provide building owner services. "It is this commitment that enables me at Fulton Andrew to unconditionally put the needs of our clients first without ever having to compromise our client's position due to potential conflicts of interest with landlords or developers," Keyser explains.
Keyser says he's always been surprised by "how landlord-focused the entire real estate world is." In today's climate, tenant opportunity is plentiful. So in short, he continues, it all depends upon which side of the table you are sitting. Very few, truly without conflict, sit on the tenant's side, he believes.
