Kroll, headquartered at 900 3rd Ave. in New York City, has 80-plus offices in 17 countries on six continents. Bob Mohr, president of the national corporate services firm, tells GlobeSt.com that Kroll will be adding offices and markets. Decisions are being finalized about locations and office sizes.

Mohr says the newly signed, long-term contract has his team pulling together the numbers for the portfolio in the US and overseas. "They are on a substantial growth mode based on their business and what's happening in the world today," says Mohr. The plan is to use Mohr's London office at 37-39 London End in Beaconsfield as the operations hub for Kroll's overseas real estate interests.

Mohr and Rob Pipkin secured the client. Paula Nodwell, Mohr's portfolio management director, will supervise the day-to-day advisement and transactions from her Dallas office. The services entail leases, relocations and strategic consulting.

The security giant was founded in 1972 by Jules B. Kroll. It started out as a consultant to corporate purchasing departments and expanded through the years to include investigative, intelligence and security services. The risk consulting firm recently acquired Ontrack Data International, a computer data recovery software.

Kroll's was tagged "Wall Street's private eye" in the 1980s, a period of hostile takeovers and leveraged buyouts. Its teams have searched for hidden assets of Jean-Claude Duvalier, Ferdinand and Imelda Marcos and Saddam Hussein. Its caseload ranges from the Texas A&M bonfire tragedy to a five-year assignment for a team of 30 to monitor the Los Angeles Police Department.

Mohr said a Kroll team was assigned to the World Trade Center. Since Sept. 11, more than 10,000 buildings, including Chicago's Sears Tower, have been "entrusted" to Kroll teams, specialists in threat assessment and advisers for crisis management plans.
