Eric Simonson, vice president and general manager of Sundrella Casual Furniture, tells GlobeSt.com that the foundry's yearly sales are under $1 million. But, the plan is to use Sundrella's aggressive marketing and sales techniques to expand the customer base, he says. The foundry will supply Sundrella's cast aluminum parts for umbrellas and lawn furniture and other products in its inventory lineup.

The acquisition could open the door to new product lines for Sundrella. Simonson says there is consideration to add recreational vehicle awnings, camping equipment and additional cast aluminum decor.

Simonson says marketing efforts already have lined up more foundry customers. Sundrella, he says, has considered its options to push growth, including foreign opportunities."The chance to further expand our product offerings, maintain and increase our quality and keep jobs here in Phoenix, made this an opportunity we didn't want to pass up," he explains. Sundrella's main site is located in a 65,000-sf building at 2740 West Deer Valley Rd. in Phoenix.
