Completion is expected by August, a year after the project brokeground on a 28-acre site north of Tampa's Ybor City sector andabout five miles from Interstates 4 and 275.

Marlton, NJ-based Michaels Development Co. is developing theproject for the Tampa Housing Authority. The enterprise is beingfunded partly by a federal grant under the Housing and UrbanDevelopment Hope VI Program. Torti Gallas and Partners of SilverSpring, MD is the project architect.

The first phase will have 84 one-story and two-story buildingshousing 201 units. The second phase will add 348 units for a total559 units. The one, two, three and four-bedroom units are 945 sf to1,600 sf. The mixed income community will have a rent schedulebased partially on market rates, tax-credits and public housinglevels.
