"In a little more than 12 years, we have grown from one hotel in Hong Kong to 33 properties spanning all of our international lodging brands in China," Marriott's international lodging president Ed Fuller says. "Ours is now one of the largest portfolios of hotels in the country. "

The Beijing development is part of a mixed-use project in the Chaoyang District that will ultimately encompass an office building and an underground parking facility. In addition to its 12 floors of suites, Renaissance Beijing will offer a 4,500-sf ballroom, three meeting rooms and two restaurants.

The Renaissance Wuhan, owned by Hubei Electricity Development Co., is in the center of Hubei's industrial, commercial and trading hub in the city's Wuchang section. Its amenities include a 5,800-sf ballroom, 1,300 sf of meeting space and a boardroom. Three other Renaissance properties in China are located in Hong Kong and Shanghai. The value of Marriott's management contract has not been disclosed.
