Howard "Chip" Horne Jr. of the Houston office of Cushman & Wakefield of Texas Inc. tells GlobeSt.com that Prairie View is moving its nursing school from a building in the medical center. He wouldn't say how long the operation will be based at 1801 Main, other than to say the lease is filling an "interim need."
The new location is a 219,054-sf office building on the southern fringe of downtown. Horne said the university chose the building because of its proximity to the medical center and future light rail as well as the ease of parking it will provide for students.
Horne represented Texas A&M in the lease. Welcome Wilson Jr. and Jason Wasoff of Wilson Wasoff in Houston represented the building owner, TCP Renaissance Partners LLP of Dallas. TCP has owned the building since 1998, according to Harris County tax records.
