The building consists of 44,344 sf, and has three basic sections: the 850-seat auditorium, 15,000-sf sanctuary, a 16,000-sf social hall and about 13,000-sf of classroom and administration spaces. A basement houses the building's mechanical equipment and storage.

The property is zoned R-3, single-family residential.

The city will also consider a proposal for a "public-private" or "public-public" joint use and or operation of the property.

The bid deposit of $75,000 must accompany all proposals submitted. The minimum bid for the property has been established by the city at $3.15 million.

Southfield will accept proposals until 3 p.m. July 22.
