The first two models won't be finished until fall. The sales were logged in the first six weeks at the gated 21-acre community west of Woodbury Road on Waterford Lakes Parkway, about five miles south of the University of Central Florida.
The 51-year-old Texas builder has been building single-family homes at Waterford Lakes since the early 1990s but didn't anticipate the demand for the townhomes. Centex division president Pat Knight calls the product "a great fit for this market."
Three different two and three-bedroom plans are being offered with living areas ranging from 1,300 sf to 1,875 sf. All homes have single-car garages.
Centex has other townhome developments in Flagler County, FL, California and Texas.
