Grubb & Ellis Co.'s Houston team of Mark Lehman and Chris Kugle represented the seller. Kugle tells GlobeSt.com that Cemex acquired the property from Houston Shell & Concrete during a takeover. For years, Houston Shell & Concrete operated a ready-mix plant on the site. Cemex has other ready-mix plants in the area and decided to sell some of its older properties.

Kugle and Lehman secured the buyer in less than four months. The asset provides ample outside storage for US Marble's slabs as well as a 10,000-sf warehouse. Kugle says US Marble also is reinstalling a rail spur to the property. The brokers were mum on the sales price, but the listing price was $300,000.
