The new stadium, which replaced the former Kingdome, is designed with a 67,000-seat capacity, with 5,000 additional seats available for special events, and 1,400 seats for fans with disabilities. A roof covers 70 percent of the seating area, and fans can watch games from sideline seating just 52 feet from the playing field. The facility features a dozen elevators and expansive concourses with concessions stands and restrooms.
The Seattle Sounders has expressed a desire to make the new stadium its future home, impressed by the beauty and setup of the new facility, which will be open to the public at the end of the month.
