Gregory L. Morgan, a former vice president with Toronto-based Oxford Properties Group Inc., replaces Brenner who officially left Advantis in February for personal reasons, marketing coordinator Katie Kilkelly of Advantis tells GlobeSt.com.
Advantis and Taylor & Mathis are both Atlanta-based companies.
Brenner's primary mission at Taylor & Mathis will be to grow the firm's 4.5 million-sf portfolio, T&M president Andrew Taylor says in a prepared statement.
"With Hank, we've got one of the most experienced real estate people in Florida on board," Taylor says. "As most people in the business know, we've made our Florida operations one of our top priorities this year."
Brenner began his commercial real estate career in the early 1980s with Tampa-based Paragon group. He left Paragon in 1991 to be one of the founding partners of Florida Real Estate Advisors. St. Joe Co. of Jacksonville, FL bought FREA in 1998 and formed Advantis with the acquisition. Brenner stayed on as managing director.
In a prepared statement, Brenner says, "Originally I thought I would concentrate on investment opportunities with some of my former partners but what became very clear to me is I've most enjoyed the people end of the business."
He says he decided to go with Taylor & Mathis because the firm "felt like home, reminding me of the FREA days." Brenner says "they have a lot of long-term employees as well as a strong client base. That culture of loyalty is in in great part why I chose this opportunity."
