Chandler was principal of Chandler/Hoop Realty, where he was responsible for all phases of development, management and leasing of grocery-anchored retail centers with such lead acts as Kroger, Winn-Dixie and Wal-Mart. Chandler has more than 19 years in the commercial real estate business.
Chandler tells GlobeSt.com that he will focus on the development and acquisition of neighborhood, preferably grocery-anchored, shopping centers. Cencor's existing Houston retail portfolio totals about four million sf. Chandler emphasized he will be concentrating on the quality of the product rather than the size, but he expects to add at least another half million sf of retail space to the portfolio through development and acquisition. Chandler's duties also include helping with the day-to-day operations such as property management, asset management and new business development.
