American Public Television, a 40-year-old company that distributes programming to the country's 349 public television stations, is taking 11,998 sf of space on the fourth floor of its new location. "Our lease at 120 Boylston Street doesn't expire until the end of 2003, but we wanted to take advantage of the current market conditions in our search for a new space," says David P. Fournier, vice president of finance & administration for APT, adding that the new space, which is located in the city's financial district, "suits our needs perfectly." The company wanted to remain downtown near public transportation.

55 Summer St. is a 10-story, 101,000-sf office building located near Downtown Crossing. John Butterworth, director, and Kevin Kennedy, associate at the Bostonoffice of Insignia/ESG represented APT in the transaction. Mark Browne of Browne Realty Advisors represented H.N. Gorin, the building's owner.
