The buyers plan to develop a 15,000-sf community center for the ManKind Project of Houston. Keith P. Grothaus of Houston's Caldwell Watson Real Estate Group represented the buyer.
The ManKind Project is an international training program that came to Houston in 1991. The program trains men through weekend seminars on leadership and life skills. Over 1,800 Houston-area men have completed the program.
Tom Condon Jr. and Karl D. Willmann, both with the Houston office of Betz Commercial Brokerage Inc., represented the sellers while, Karen Highfield and Christine Belcher, Partners Title Co. team, coordinated the closing.
According to Harris County tax records, the sellers acquired the property in 1991. The county has assessed the land's value at $194,270, which most likely is well below the selling price.
