The 138-room Hilton Garden Inn is positioned at 11617 Research Blvd. near the Duval Road intersection. Alegre Hospitality own the hotel under a franchise license agreement with Hilton Inns Inc., the franchising subsidiary of Hilton Hotels Corp., based in Beverly Hills, CA. LinGate Hospitality, based in Owensboro, KY, manages the hotel.
The Hilton Garden Inn brand is aimed at cost-conscious business travelers. It has 1,300 sf of flexible meeting space and a 24-hour business center. Rooms include high-speed Internet access, two telephones, a work desk and an ergonomic chair. The hotel is situated near large employers such as IBM Corp., Motorola, State Farm Insurance and the University of Texas' Pickle Center.
The Hilton joins the battle for the business traveler in the Research Boulevard (also called US Highway 183) corridor. In May, a 101-room Extend Stay America efficiency studios hotel further up the road at 13858 Research Blvd. Other hotels in the area range from the Renaissance Austin Hotel to suite hotels operated by various companies.
