All construction, including residential single-family homes, multifamily rental units and infrastructure, dropped from June 2001 to June 2002, he adds.
The figures for year to year construction continues a year-long slide. From January 2001 to January 2002, commercial construction dropped 35%.
Total commercial construction, on a cumulative basis from January to June, dropped by 26% from 2001 to 2002, Murray says.
Infrastructure includes roads, bridges, harbor developments, sewers, airports and utility systems.
