The package comes with a link for prospective tenants as well as those who've already signed on the bottom line. Dallas-based Hybrid designed the sites along with Hines' internal team. Ilene Allen, Hines senior manager of special projects, tells GlobeSt.com that the design has many unique aspects for uploading up-to-the-minute information.
Forty sites will be launched by year's end and the balance will come on line in 2003. To date, seven sites have gone live. As for the cost, Allen would only say that it's one-fourth or one-fifth of the cost to develop sites individually.
"Our cyberspace strategy is not one based on technology for the sake of technology," says Gerhard Karba, Hines chief technology officer. The sites are aimed at improving quality of property management with "cutting-edge technology" while saving on the bottom line, he says.
