The two used to work and carouse near the Central Platte Valley, where Crawford, head of Urban Neighborhoods Inc., plans the 60-unit Kerouac Lofts. The lofts at 3100 Huron St. next to her $200-million, multi-building Prospect neighborhood near Coors Field, will average in price in the mid-$200,000s.
"Price per square foot is a big issue with buyers these days," says Crawford, who probably has renovated or built more inner-city buildings than any other private firm in Denver.
In fact, she saved Larimer Square from the wrecking ball in 1965--another hang out of Kerouac's and Cassidy in the late '40s.
Units in the Jack Kerouac Lofts are designed by J.G. Johnson Architects of Denver. They will feature high ceilings, large windows and open floor plans. All units will have individual outdoor balconies or terraces, and hardwood floors. They'll range in size from 700 sf to nearly 1,800 sf.
