The first project, Whitehall Hill, includes 92 units on a 20-acre parcel at 2 Boyles St. The developer, Whitehall Realty Trust, applied to the city for a special permit to build the project, which would be located near Endicott College. A town representative tells GlobeSt.com that the site does not require rezoning and a public hearing on the proposal will be held next month.
The second project of 70 units is to be developed on a 45-acre lot that would be accessed from Boulder Lane. The developer, Mike Miles, needs a zoning variance, according to the town representative. She notes that part of the property is in an industrial/residential zone and adds that the hearing for this project is scheduled for later this month.
The representative points out that the term senior housing here actually refers to over-55 complexes that will target an upscale clientele. The average price of the condominiums will be in the $500,000 market range.
