Bender has been a leader in the economic development industry in Colorado for more than 20 years.
"I'm honored to have been chosen by ULI to serve on the Pittsburgh International Airport panel," Bender says. "I'm very familiar with the challenges Colorado faced and met when the Denver International Airport was built, and with the planning that continues in order to insure the wisest development around this phenomenal asset."
The Pittsburgh panel will be addressing issues concerning market potential, planning and design, development strategies, site control/regulation, and how to implement a plan. The Pittsburgh International panel will run from Sept. 8 to Sept. 13.
Bender founded the DIA Partnership in 1996, which is a consortium of public, private and community leaders, working in partnership and dedicated to promoting economic opportunity and quality of life in the DIA District. She has served in economic development roles in Washington State and in the cities of Denver and Aurora. She has led and been a part of political delegations in major cities in the US as well as the UK, Japan, Korea, South Africa and China.
