The development is located in the new Waterstone residential area, which has 2,000 single-family homes on 1,400 acres, next to Boulder Pointe Championship Golf Course.
Independence Village has built 11 retirement communities throughout Michigan and Ohio, and specializes in limited assisted living. Seniors are provided breakfast and dinner, and an activities calendar including cultural, educational and sporting events. Game rooms, gardens, and local nurse care are also available.
At Waterstone, there are also supplemental assisted living units offered, called The Harbors at Independence Village.
The company did not release the development cost by PM Group Investment Corp. A similar Independence Village built in White Lake, with 185 units, was built in 1999 for $18 million.
