The club offers gyms, tennis courts, dining and athletic and special events. It's also the home of the Houston Rockets, Comets and Aeros. The renovation plan will add additional amenities and business technologies.
Greenway Plaza is owned by Fort Worth-based Crescent Real Estate Equities Ltd., which used in-house leasing manager Randy Strait to negotiate the terms. Dan McIntyre, vice president of operations of the Houston City Club, handled its side of the talks.
"The Houston City Club is a remarkable amenity for Greenway Plaza customers and we value the synergy the club brings to the development," Jane Page, Crescent's senior vice president of asset management and leasing, said in a prepared statement. "The club's continued commitment to Greenway Plaza furthers our ability to offer an exceptional workplace environment for our customers."
