HLM Designs Names New Chief Financial Officer

ATLANTA-The Charlotte-based architectural firm replaces Vernon Brannon, acting chief financial officer, with the permanent appointment of William S. Shropshire Jr. He comes from Dyersburg Corp., also in Charlotte. Brannon returns to operations at HLM.

Shropshire was previously executive vice president, chief financial officer, secretary, treasurer and director of Charlotte-based Dyersburg Corp.

Prior to that, he was senior vice president, chief financial officer and treasurer of Houston, TX-based Charter Bancshares. He is a certified public accountant.

HLM has affiliated operations in 14 cities in the United States and abroad. The company provides architecture, engineering and planning services to commercial and institutional clients worldwide. Its shares are traded on the American Stock Exchange as HMD.
