The 112,000-sf hall can house about 360 students. The building is the first phase of the university's plan to house up to 4,000 students by 2007.
Another dorm will open next year.
Students will pay $6,100 for both semesters to live in the new dorm, which includes double occupancy rooms with private baths, 24-hour manned reception desk, a 250-seat dining hall and laundry facilities. The college did notrelease development costs.
The university's plan is to branch out to more students to bring them into the urban school setting.
