RealHound.com will shift from Irvine, CA to Carrollton as its principal Andrew Blount slides in as RealPage's vice president of product management. In turn, RealPage will open a Laguna Beach, CA satellite office, where Blount will spend part of his time. RealPage also has an office in Burlington, VT.

In mid-July, RealPage acquired YieldStar, a revenue management system with real-time information delivery for the multifamily sector. Sold by Houston-based Camden Property Trust, the product is the foundation for OneSite Revenue Management, which will be released later in the year. YieldStar too was developed in part by the RealHound team.

For RealPage, the new deal means it now owns the development team and the software for its newest product, OneSite Portfolio, which is designed to handle just what the name implies--entire portfolios. The system runs reports on nearly any statistic from any property or group of assets in a portfolio. Essex Property Trust Inc. and MidAmerica have rolled out the product for their portfolios.

RealPage is a consortium of five corporations delivering products and research to the multifamily industry. Its wares are used by more than 21,000 apartment communities in the US for such areas as leasing, applicant screening, property management, budgeting and keeping tabs on competitors' data.
