Walgreens leased a 13,950-sf pad site at the northeast corner of Spring-Cypress and Kuykendahl roads. Jay K. Sears and Steven D. Alvis represented NewQuest Properties of Houston in the talks for the pad site.

Dolgen Corp. of Texas took 7,500 sf to bring a Dollar General to the Pavilion Shopping Center at 9525 Wilcrest. Pavilion Shopping Center, also a NewQuest asset, is a 93,000-sf center located in the city's southwest submarket. Celaya Meat Market and Gulf Coast Cleaners are the anchors. NewQuest's Bob Conwell handled its side of the talks while Debbie Scott of the Houston-based Commercial Group represented the tenant.

Washington Mutual will be opening a 4,000-sf bank in Jones Town Center, NewQuest's under-construction shopping venue at the southeast corner of Jones and Cypress North Houston roads. The 118,547-sf retail center will open at Thanksgiving, with Kroger and CVS Pharmacy as its anchors. David Meyers spoke for NewQuest while Lance Gilliam of Moody Rambin Interests in Houston bargained the terms for the tenant.
