"Maruchan has been a very valued employer and corporate citizen," Chesterfield County Department of Economic Development director Jim Dunn tells GlobeSt.com. There are currently about 300 workers at Maruchan. "They continue to add new capital in investment, and new jobs. They have really reached out to attract a wide variety of employees, and they've helped the county attract other food manufacturer and expand our base of Japanese companies in the area."
The new addition marks Maruchan's fourth facility expansion since it built its first 160,000-sf structure at the industrial park in 1989. The new building will bring the company's total space to nearly 600,000 sf. In regard to Maruchan's consistent growth over the last decade and resulting need for more and more space, Dunn predicts this recent addition "won't be the last.
