Brannon replaces William S. Shropshire Jr., who succeeded Brannon in the post three weeks ago.

Ask why the company made such a quick turnaround in the top financial spot, spokeswoman J. Rossi tells GlobeSt.com, "It didn't work out." Rossi says, "Selecting personnel is a difficult decision and sometimes it doesn't work out.

Brannon has been with the company since it went public eight years ago. He began in operations and returned to that post following Shropshire's appointment.

Shropshire is a certified public accountant who previously held chief financial posts at Charlotte-based Dyersburg Corp. and Houston, TX-based Charter Bancshares.
